I’m so delighted to have had the opportunity to celebrate a few local leaders right here in Assembly District 18. My selection for Women of the Year is LaNiece Jones, Oakland’s very own. LaNiece has successfully designed programs, events, and initiatives to increase the efficacy and productivity of social businesses, social enterprises and community organizations. She has worked to support Black women to be authentic leaders and has built coalitions to empower our community for economic success. LaNiece is an inspiration for all of us desiring to step into leadership roles.
