ABOUT ACTA NON VERBA (ANV)
Founded by Kelly Carlisle, a Navy veteran wanted to give back to youth in her childhood home of East Oakland, a USDA-defined “Food Desert”. She established Acta Non Verba, an East Oakland non-profit organization that was established in 2010 to empower youth to plan, plant, harvest, and sell organically grown produce. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of produce is placed into individual savings accounts for participating youth. Some of their unique programs include, after-school programs, camps, and farm days encouraging active parental involvement.
