The mission of San Francisco Black Infant Health Program is to address the problem of poor birth outcomes and health disparities affecting African American women and their infants.  We encourage a commitment to self-love and healthy living through our group education program and individual client services.  Our ultimate goal is to improve African American infant and maternal health and decrease health disparities and social inequities.

WE WORK TO:

  • Empower women and build resilience
  • Promote healthy behaviors and relationships
  • Connect women to services
  • Engage our community to improve health and birth outcomes

THE SAN FRANCISCO BLACK INFANT HEALTH PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THESE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS:

  • Chronic stress
  • Social isolation
  • Limited access to services
  • Racial inequities
  • Economic hardship
  • Disempowered communities
